| Pregnancy portraits or Maternity Photography. At About Faces Photography we generally recommend you have your photos taken when you are about 7.5 to 8 months pregnant. Most women feel really great about their beautiful belly’s size and shape at this stage of the pregnancy. You can always postpone your photo shoot appointment for a week or so if you feel you would like to be a little bigger for your wonderful pregnancy portraits.During your portrait session we create a whole range of different looks for you to choose from. Dad’s hands caressing your pregnant tummy. A softly draped naked pregnant woman is a classical, timeless image or you can be portrayed in pretty underwear, with your partner and perhaps an older child. It’s your session so we design it to suit you.
Many of our mums & dads to be, choose to start a photographic journey with us to record in a celebration book of “all firsts” in baby’s life. The Book of Firsts starts with the pregnancy photography, then new born baby’s first weeks, 3 month old lying on tummy, first smiles, 7 month old first time sitting, 9 months old first time crawling, first birthday and first steps. This photographic record of firsts is something so very special for the family that parents often order an additional book to be set aside as a beautiful gift for their baby’s 21st birthday. Now, how special is that?
It is always best to book well in advance to ensure you get an appointment for the stage of your pregnancy you would like the photography done. We recommend you book 3 or 4 months in advance, especially if your timing co-insides with our busiest times like Mothers day, Fathers day, school holidays, Easter, Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
An eye for fine detail is essential to achieve beautiful pregnancy or maternity images. We create poses that suit your beautiful body shape to make you look your best. We offer a full retouching service if you are worried about stretch marks, hormonal skin blotches and other areas that may cause you concern.
Often many women may only have one opportunity to become pregnant, for others it may be their last baby; no matter what the reason, your beautifully tasteful series of images is a celebration of the very essence of womanhood.
Our fully equipped, air-conditioned studio is located in Bulli, which is one of the beautiful beach side suburbs of Wollongong. Some of our pregnant mothers to be choose to have a beautiful outdoor beach or bush pregnancy portrait. Anything is possible.
